How to be a Digital Nomad

There are some things in life I just haven’t got to yet. I’m a busy man who sleeps a lot, (I believe it’s an age thing), so my time is precious. I haven’t done a parachute jump, (maybe because I don’t like heights) I haven’t yet been down the Grand Canal in Venice, and I have never done ‘Tower of Terror’ at Disneyland, Paris – you know the things most people do in their lives.

I was surprised to find the other day that the term ‘digital nomad’ actually exists. Surprised as I thought it was a made up phrase. According to Wikipedia, Digital nomads are a type of people who use telecommunications technologies to earn a living and, more generally, conduct their life in a nomadic manner. Such workers often work remotely from foreign countries, public libraries, coffee shops, co-working spaces, or even recreational vehicles.

Some of you may recall, that it is now nearly 12 months since the great Andrew Reynolds possibly introduced you to this term. So is this still your dream?  How far have you come since beginning your (Primo) journey? What are you prepared to do to make it truly happen?

If you’re a just a little like me, then maybe you do seek new destinations. Thoughts of long white sandy beaches with the water calling out your name.  Different cities to explore and discover.

To many this could be an ideal life, and you would not be alone in this regards. Many industries are now even accepting remote work as the way forward, indeed you may get offered the chance to do this one day with the company your with now. Although probably to work from home, not on a remote beach somewhere. So you do not have to be self-employed especially to begin with and you may like to try this interesting lifestyle.

However with your (Primo) business, the end aim perhaps is to eventually work for yourself, continually learning, building new sales funnels, advertising your internet business. Your aim to grow your business, with a view to give you a more nomadic lifestyle. If you do it well and make your (primo) business solid then this should be no problem.

Like with all things there is always some risk, but then there’s nothing more exhilarating or more rewarding than traveling the world as a digital nomad. The option to actually choose your destination at will.

Like with many things however, you have to put the work in before this can become a reality. Make the time to really move your business onwards. Set a goal of where you want to be in a year from now. Remember ‘tomorrow never comes’, so if you put it off until tomorrow, it will not happen. Start today and do it now (or even part of it) and I’m sure you will soon be where you want to be.

So I’m off to Venice for a few days, with ‘she who must be obeyed’, as I still have to travel down that Grand Canal, like I said earlier there are some things in life that you just simply must do.

How do you eat a giant pie?

So a question I kept being asked in another life was ‘How do you eat a giant pie’ (your choice – but mines the Cherry one right?)

The answer is simple, its gotta be just one piece at a time.

If you apply this principle to your e-business, then there is only so much you can do at once and you need to break it down into (bite size) pieces.

Personally, I find it great to work through a list of jobs. I know what needs to be done and its (most) satisfying to tick that item off, which means your another step closer to your goal.

Top Tip – Do something everyday, break your task up into smaller pieces i.e if your writing a blog, write 15 minutes today, 15 minutes tomorrow and so forth until its done that way its not such a chore and it still done in just a few days.

Allow me to let you into a secret, with an internet business you can also delegate if you feel you need to and it gets you through your list quicker.

If you don’t want to design your book cover or believe you can’t do it justice, delegate the job to a expert designer. The internet is very competitive and the cost will be lower than you believe.

You can then continue with the writing, formatting of your new ebook which maybe you enjoy much more.

What about a facebook video, if your not sure about how to go about this, again delegate it,

You can continue with your social media planning still as part of your list if you prefer.

Over time I have built up a valuable team, to deal with these things, I can learn later, (or even not at all) just to get what needs to be done finished.

Bottom line, don’t stop or put off the things you believe are tricky, there is always someone who has been there, done that and bought the t-shirt. (I think his name may have been Tom)

Always believe you will get to your goal. A new life awaits you. But only if you complete your list!

Right so I’m off to clean the car which is the next thing on my (wife’s) list.

The Great Ebay Mass Exodus

Did you see it?

Its the same every year.

No sooner was Christmas finished then the mass exodus begins.

No I’m not talking about a holiday getaway. But simply the rush to add all the unwanted gifts to ebay.

Now all stores have generous return policies with or without receipts but people generally prefer to list their new gift items on ebay, maybe even on Amazon.

Some of the cynical amongst you may think they are ungrateful, however we live in a material world. If you already have the item then it is easier to list the item on ebay and be paid when it sells, than it is to ask the person who provided the gift to take it back and exchange it for something else.

From a buyers point of view, it does mean many a bargain can be found. Whether you actually want the item or in my case resell the item for a profit either still on ebay or on Amazon.

Did you know many people will shop on one platform or the other. This process of buying and reselling is called ‘Flipping’ and can be done with many things especially as most people are happy with the original sale made i.e they sell for what they can get.

However if you do this, and there is lots of money to be made here, you must ensure you have a great picture or pictures to promote it for the best price.

Another Year. Another Dollar


So yet another year had passed.

As I sat there writing this, still in xmas mood, I think that the year had been pretty good.

What was your highlight of the year?

If I was to choose, I think that seeing my book ‘50 Easy Business Hacks to Increase Your Sales’ in print for the very first time must rank highly.

This year (as always) would be better.

Now is a time to reflect on past actions and make a plan.

Whatever you set your mind to, now is the time to make it happen.

On my blog, I want to start reporting on items that may help you with your online ideas and also provide some FREE reports and stuff on this too.

Heading Down the Internet at 50 (Part 2)

So as I was saying, I went to the Digital Nomads Summit.

It was time for a change.

You see I’m just a regular Joe, like you.

I believe that there is another way.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had lots of success in MLM, Internet Retailing, Ebay and on Amazon. But the internet is huge and full of new possibilities. It was now time to look at those areas too.

Digital Nomads provided 3 days full of information and opportunities but one thing soon became clear.

I was gonna need help.

Andrew Reynolds told me he expected only about 20 people to succeed. Not because they didn’t know what to do but because they would take what they had learned and do NOTHING!

You see its easier to stay where you are, its comfortable there.

Nothing changes until it changes.

If you do nothing then you should expect nothing or make a change now and see a change for the better.

So like I said perhaps I was gonna need help. So I made friends with a fellow summit attendee with the sole aim of motivating each other.

You see I’m determined to make that change.

Not only for myself to prove it can be done (it really can), but also for my family and their future.

So here in my blog, I will be continuing my ongoing learning process and hoping to pass on the knowledge I’ve learned to provide ideas and opportunities for you to try

And in case you’re wondering about my subject line, I turned the big 5-0 this year. Life can only get better from here…

Heading Down the Internet at 50 (Part 1)

So I sat there.

This was the Digital Nomads Summit in London Docklands.

I almost hadn’t come at all, but this was special and I knew that I WOULD regret it later if I didn’t.

You see the month before I had (like many others), received a letter. My friend Andrew Reynolds, an 80+ millionaire had finally decided to retire after 21 years.

Andrew Reynolds was the guy who had built several internet businesses and proved beyond any doubt that anything was possible.

The idea behind the summit, was ‘how to be a digital nomad’, which for those of you that are not familiar with the term, means choice – the freedom to have a life you choose whilst your business runs quietly in the background.

So I sat there for 3 days, (well I did return to my hotel at night), but the summit was worth the time taken to go. Several internet millionaires in addition to Andrew, including Tom Hua, Sean Allison, Brian Koz and Brett Mcfall.

Afterwards I decided to further invest my time in continuing to learn what had been taught.
